Basic Tips in Bluffing

Pokers popularity with friday nights get-together hiked up a notch when the game was introduced online causing the dramatic increase of poker players all over the world. Poker is a battle of wits, intelligence and nerves. This is a game for those who crave for challenges. To play poker, one must not only be a good liar, but also a good actor. Bluffing is the most exciting part of a poker game,aside from winning of course, and a good player knows how and when to bluff, without appearing to be one. You risk losing when you bluff, So know when to psyche out your opponent and when not to.

1. Don't try your acting skills on your opponent when he has so much money in the pot that you're raise or bet cannot make him fold.

2. Don't get caught on your own bluff by not raising enough to make a difference. You might be called for your small raise, and in the end lose your poker chips to your opponent.

3. Know your opponent. If he's a bad player and in desperated need to win don't bother practicing your tactics on him becasue he would more likely call your bluff.

4. Vary your bluffing style or else your opponent might caught up and you get sucked into your own bluff.

Bluffing is an important strategy at the poker table. It takes a lot of winnings and losses before you can fully master the art. Not all bluff works, and you can use this to your advantage because once the opponent realizes that you do not always have the high cards, they are more than likely to call your bluff and in the end, you go home with more chips.
